TriptychsTwo Volumes of Graphics - The Parade (late 1940's) and A Journey (1950's) led to the Procession series. Both books consist of a narrative, but in graphic form. The two "pictorial narratives" Parade and Journey not only spawned the Procession and Millepede, but also a series of triptychs, diptychs and multiptychs. The relationship and connection between single images appear of greater significance, consequence and potential than the singular, individual panel. Reality, upon which art ultimately depends, appears to proceed and depend on relationships and connections. They form the larger, more comprehensive, picture of reality. |
