Ecce
Homo
“Ecce Homo” (Behold the
Man) is said to have been the words with which Pilate presented Christ,
crowned with thorns, to his accusers before his crucifixion. Ecce Homo
has since become the subject for many artists and writers. I
began this latest, and perhaps last, of my series January, 2005 – piecing
together bits and fragments from previous works, some going back to
1924 (when, at the age of five, I decided to become an artist). Resurrected and reassembled, these works may well reflect upon man’s
fragmentary life, nature and history. |
